For today's quest I'd like you to
pick a destination you've never been to. (For an extra challenge, use a map, close your eyes and randomly pick a place!)
Now hop on over to the search engine on your computer or phone and do some research about the location and try to learn as many interesting things as you can about that location. Lear about the culture and traditions, the language and how long the place has existed. Then go ahead and write about the setting from the POV of a charter from one of your WIP.
Include as many details as possible in order to submerged your reader. Make it seem as though you've been there before. For example, what is the climate like? Is the trerrain like, is it cloudy or always sunny? Tune into all five senses. What would it smell like depending on the types of foods, clothes, animals and labor? What kind of people would you see there? How are they dressed? Is it a place you'd feel welcomed?
